Lexus LC

With a spectacular V8 engine, striking good looks, and an impeccably crafted interior, the LC is a grand tourer of the highest order. And that’s exactly what you’d expect from Lexus’ flagship model. Owners appreciate the LC most for its refined and ample power, balance of comfort and agility, and top-notch build quality – not to mention its long list of standard features. On the downside, the lithe Lexus doesn’t offer much in the way of utility. The back seat is puny, and with just five cubic feet of space, the trunk is equally ungenerous.

Lexus LC Model Lineup

The LC (short for “Luxury Coupe”) is a premium grand tourer that Lexus offers in both coupe and convertible body styles. While primarily a two-seater, the LC does offer two small rear seats for occasional use (or for children). It’s the larger of two coupes offered by the Japanese automaker, measuring some three inches longer than the compact RC (short for “Radical Coupe”).

Lexus sells the LC in two trims: the V8-powered LC 500, which is available either as a coupe or a convertible, and the hybrid LC 500h, which is only offered as a coupe. All versions come well-equipped with premium features, including leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 10.3-inch infotainment display with navigation. Apple CarPlay joined the standard-feature list in 2019, and Android Auto followed suit in 2021. Standard safety tech includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision mitigation. Blind-spot warning also became standard in 2020 (and was previously optional). Other notable options include front and rear parking sensors, active rear steering, a limited-slip differential, and a carbon-fiber roof.

Under the hood, the LC features one of two powertrains. The LC 500 employs a 5.0-liter V8 making 471 horsepower. It drives the rear wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. The LC 500h features a hybrid setup, pairing a 3.5-liter V6 with two electric motors for a combined 354 hp. Power routes to the rear wheels by way of a somewhat unique gearbox: a continuously variable transmission combined with a four-speed automatic that, together, offers ten forward gears.

2018 Lexus LC 500

Excellent vehicle overall. Braking system is my only complaint, its poor for the cost of the vehicle.

2018 Lexus LC 500

You will not be invisible in the LC500. I have owned 2 Ferraris, 4 Porsches, 6 Jaguars, 4 BMWs, and many other sports cars. But this car turns heads like no other. It has a perfect balance of styling, performance, and build quality that not many cars can equal and none at this price. Driving it briskly brings a smile to your face.
