Kia K900

Considered Kia’s flagship luxury sedan during its brief run from 2015 to 2020, the K900 acquitted itself well in a segment dominated by the likes of Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. Praised for its generous list of standard features, powerful V6 and V8 engines, and handsome interior, the K900 offers a well-equipped package at a great value compared to its European rivals. Yet, the K900 did have some drawbacks, as owners have chafed at its lack of fuel economy, underwhelming driving dynamics, and rather pedestrian exterior styling.

Kia K900 Model Lineup

The K900 is a full-size luxury sedan with room for five. During its 2015 to 2020 production run, it was the largest sedan in Kia’s lineup, measuring roughly six inches longer than the full-size Cadenza.

Kia offered the K900 in a variety of trims mostly associated with the type of engine they employed. A 420-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 originally debuted on the K900’s Premium and Luxury trims in 2015. However, a 311-hp 3.8-liter V6 became standard the following year, with the V8 relegated to optional on the Luxury trim. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. When the second-generation K900 appeared in 2019, Kia fitted a new 365-hp 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 with standard all-wheel drive and the same eight-speed automatic transmission from earlier model years. No hybrid or electric versions were ever built.

The K900 comes loaded with standard features, including front- and rearview cameras, front and rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a sunroof. However, most advanced safety features are optional, including lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera. Blind-spot warning moved from optional to standard in 2017, which is also the year that Kia upgraded the standard infotainment system to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and a wireless smartphone charger.

2015 Kia K900

The car is wonderful. It seems as good as a comparable BMW or Mercedes at a much lower price and warranty.
