Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Revived after being off the market for the last three decades, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer has boldly returned – sans the exterior wood paneling that once made it iconic. A full-size, truck-based luxury SUV, it offers a palatial cabin, a strong V8 engine, and an impressive list of standard features befitting a vehicle at its price point. Cost of ownership, however, can be a significant detractor, alongside the Grand Wagoneer’s subpar fuel economy and unwieldy size.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Model Lineup

The Grand Wagoneer is a luxury version of Jeep’s full-size SUV, the Wagoneer. It’s the automaker’s largest SUV, measuring roughly 10 inches longer than the midsize Grand Cherokee L, and seats seven or eight passengers, depending on the configuration of the second row, which is offered as either a bench or a pair of captain’s chairs. The Grand Wagoneer shares a platform and some components with the Ram 1500, a body-on-frame pickup truck.

Jeep offers the Grand Wagoneer in four trims: the entry-level Series I, the mid-tier Series II, the black-accented Obsidian, and the range-topping Series III. Standard equipment includes leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with massage capabilities, an adaptive air suspension, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Also standard is a suite of advanced safety and driver-assist features, including forward collision mitigation, blind-spot warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, an automated parking system, and a surround-view camera.

Powering the Grand Wagoneer is a 471-horsepower 6.4-liter V8 paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. No electric or hybrid versions are currently available.
