Jaguar F-PACE

Jaguar may have been a little late to the SUV party when it introduced the F-Pace in 2017. But it was worth the wait. With its beautiful sheet metal, roomy cabin, and powerful engines, the F-Pace truly embodies those three essential Jaguar qualities: grace, space, and pace. As with most Jags, there are some downsides. Specifically, F-Pace owners complain of a fussy infotainment system as well as high running costs, due in part to lackluster fuel economy. But this stylish and fun-to-drive crossover makes it easy to forget those troubles whenever you slip behind the wheel.

Jaguar F-PACE Model Lineup

The F-Pace is a premium compact crossover SUV with room for five. It’s the largest model in Jaguar’s sport-ute lineup, which also includes the smaller E-Pace and the all-electric I-Pace. The F-Pace shares a platform and some components with the Range Rover Velar, sold by Jaguar’s sister company.

Jaguar builds the F-Pace in a variety of trims and engines. In addition to the base level, available trims include the mid-tier Premium and Prestige, the performance-oriented R-Sport and S, and the fully loaded Portfolio. All come nicely equipped with features, including (since 2020) Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and (since 2019) forward collision mitigation and lane-keeping assist. Additional driver aids, such as adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera, are optional.

Under the hood, the F-Pace offers a wide range of engine choices. The 25t (later renamed the P250) is a 247-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine. The 30t is a more potent version of the 25t producing 296 hp. The 35t is a supercharged V6 making 340 hp. It was replaced in 2021 by a boosted inline-six capable of either 335 hp (the P340) or 395 hp (the P400). Jaguar also sold a fuel-sipping 180-hp turbodiesel four-cylinder (the 20d) until the 2020 model year. Finally, the high-performance F-Pace SVR, which first appeared in 2019, boasts a supercharged V8 cranking out over 500 hp. All versions come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

I love the car. The only thing I would change is having a button, rather than just the screen touch for the heated seats.

The base models headlights are simply horrible. I love the vehicle, but the 'optional headlights' aren't optional. Jaguar got so much right, and I hope the fix this issue.
