INFINITI QX30

Produced from 2017 through 2019, the QX30 is a relatively short-lived model from Nissan’s luxury division. But if you’re in the market for a stylish small crossover, it’s certainly worth a look. One thing that sets the QX30 apart is the fact that it was co-developed with Mercedes-Benz, and as a result, it shares a chassis and powertrain with the German automaker’s popular (and typically more expensive) GLA model. Owners of the QX30 praise not only its striking design but also its peppy engine, posh interior, and poised handling. On the downside, the biggest disappointments come from its lackluster fuel economy and somewhat cramped cabin, especially for those in the rear seats.

INFINITI QX30 Model Lineup

The QX30 is a premium subcompact crossover with room for up to five people. During its production run (2017-2019), it was the smallest crossover in the Infiniti lineup, measuring almost a foot shorter than the compact QX50. The QX30 was developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz and shares a platform and some components with the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Infiniti sold the QX30 in four trims: the base, the mid-tier Luxury, the well-equipped Premium, and the performance-themed Sport. Note that Infiniti revised the trim names partway through the 2018 model year. The base became the Pure, the Luxury became the Luxe, the Premium became the Essential, and the Sport carried forward unchanged. All versions offer a good allotment of standard features, including keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 7.0-inch infotainment display with Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity. Higher trim levels offer even more luxuries, such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and navigation. Forward collision mitigation joined the standard-feature list in 2019; however, most additional advanced safety tech is optional, including adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot warning. Notably, neither Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto was offered.

Motivating the QX30 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Its 208 horsepower is routed via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the front wheels, unless the car is equipped with optional all-wheel drive (AWD), which is limited to the Luxury/Luxe and Premium/Essential trims. AWD examples gain an additional 1.2 inches of ride height for better ground clearance. Conversely, Sport models are lowered slightly (0.8 inches) and boast a performance-tuned suspension. No hybrid or electric versions were made.

Do not be fooled by the title Infiniti. This is an entry-level Infiniti, and if you were spoiled by a previous Infiniti You may not be happy with this particular car. I learned, after purchase, this vehicle was devoid of many of the amenities I was used to with my previous Infiniti. This 2017 vehicle does not even have the amenities from my Nissan 2015. This was very disappointing. I would strongly recommend Recommend you list the amenities that you like and verify that they are available on this vehicle.

I really like the way the car handles the road. I do have a few issues with it. You cannot lock it while running and the key in your possession. to move the seats back they are on the door handle and it does not unlock when in park. you must always hit the unlock button to get out of the car. These are important to me because I use them everyday. I do love my car and its body style.

very sporty, complicated operations-too many things on the screen, handles great, styling is awesome, even no blinds spots, love the adaptive cruise control and blind spot indicator, stereo is great and interior noise is low.
