Hyundai Venue

The Venue delivers more value and features than you might expect from a pint-sized crossover SUV. Its stylishly boxy shape maximizes interior space and also provides excellent outward visibility, making Hyundai’s smallest sport-ute a terrific city car. Some may find it a bit disappointing on the highway, though, where its small engine can feel anemic and cabin noise can grow bothersome. But like many Hyundai products, the little Venue still offers big value – not just in terms of price but also its generous standard features and class-leading factory warranty.

Hyundai Venue Model Lineup

The Venue is a subcompact crossover SUV that seats up to five. It’s the smallest offering in Hyundai’s SUV lineup, measuring about six inches shorter than the next size up, the Kona. The Venue shares a platform and some components with the Hyundai Accent, a subcompact sedan.

Hyundai sells the Venue in three main trims: the base-level SE, the mid-range SEL, and the top-end Limited (which, prior to 2022, was known as the Denim). Even the base trim comes relatively well equipped with features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, forward collision mitigation, and lane-departure warning and intervention. However, some advanced safety tech, such as adaptive cruise control, is not available.

All versions of the Venue utilize a 1.6-liter gasoline engine powering the front wheels only (all-wheel drive isn’t offered). Most examples come equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), but a manual gearbox was also available for the 2020 model year. No hybrid or electric versions have yet been produced.

The car is beautiful to look at inside and out, it is comfortable to sit in and drive. The car has every safety feature I could ever need or want. On top of all that it gets great gas mileage.

I would recommend the person that he purchase either 2020 Hyundai Kona AWD or Santa Fe Sport AWD/XL AWD if he could live with less than 33 mpg of my 2020 Venue SEL. These two other vehicles deliver more horsepower and cargo space, thus heavier, safer and more well-planted on the road and have more stylish exterior and headlights while sacrificing only the mpg. Sadly, I can't eat the cake and have it too.
