Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

New for the 2022 model year, the Tucson Hybrid is a hybrid variant of Hyundai's popular compact crossover SUV, the Tucson. The five-seater is the smallest hybrid sport-ute in the Korean automaker’s lineup, measuring about six inches shorter than the midsize Santa Fe Hybrid. A plug-in hybrid variant called the Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is also available.

Hyundai offers the Tucson Hybrid in three trims: the base-level Blue Hybrid, the mid-range SEL Convenience Hybrid, and the top-of-the-line Limited Hybrid. Regardless of trim level, it comes well-equipped. Desirable features such as heated front seats and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are standard, as are some notable advanced safety features, including forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, and adaptive cruise control. Many other niceties are optional, including ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a wireless device charging pad, a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and a surround-view camera.

Propelling the Tucson Hybrid is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. The hybrid powertrain produces a maximum of 227 horsepower, which is routed to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. It returns an EPA-estimated 38 mpg in mixed driving.
