The Palisade features a 291-horsepower V6 under the hood. Routing power through an eight-speed automatic transmission, it provides ample acceleration as well as a refined feel. Smoothness continues as a theme for the suspension, which soaks up bumps nicely but lacks much in the way of driver engagement.
Inside the cabin, the Palisade looks and feels like a model that costs far more. Even on the base model, amenities are plentiful, and materials are mostly upscale. Standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Upgrade opportunities abound, including available heated and ventilated front seats, a hands-free liftgate, and a dual-pane sunroof. The cabin is also one of the roomiest in this class, with a third row that even six-footers can sit in without complaint.
On the downside, some owners have complained about wind noise intruding at highway speeds. Hyundai has acknowledged the problem and issued a related technical service bulletin, meaning that affected vehicles can have it fixed free of charge, as long as they’re still under warranty.
Fortunately, the Palisade comes with Hyundai’s class-leading factory warranty, which provides full coverage for five years or 60,000 miles and powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles.
Hyundai Palisade Model Lineup
The Palisade is a midsize crossover SUV that seats seven or eight, depending on the configuration. The three-row family hauler is Hyundai’s largest SUV, measuring some eight inches longer than the next size down, the Santa Fe. It replaced the Santa Fe XL, which was discontinued in 2019. The Palisade shares a platform and some mechanical features with the Kia Telluride, which is made by Hyundai’s South Korean sister company.
Trims on the Palisade range from the relatively well-equipped base SE to the posh Calligraphy, which adds a host of luxury features and appointments. It comes standard with a conventional gasoline engine powering the front wheels. All-wheel drive is available. However, Hyundai does not yet offer the Palisade with a hybrid or electric powertrain.

Overall an excellent vehicle with excellent features. Some concerns I have are; quality of the exterior trim which shows finger prints and water spots, CarPlay integration is an issue (Waze display will lag up to 10 seconds causing issues following directions), Navigation system is lacking and has miss guided me on a number of occasions.

For the price the Hyundai palisade is an exceptional vehicle. And the warrantee Hyundai offers made the vehicle more appealing than other vehicles and it's class. I do find the engine noisy and the transmission does not shift smoothly.

This is the first Hyundai we have ever purchased and have been very pleased! The Palisade offered so many options and technological advances that I didn't know even existed but love! While it is considered a luxury vehicle, it was about the same price as my previous SUV but with tons of extras!
