Honda Passport
In 2019, Honda resurrected its Passport nameplate after a nearly 20-year hiatus. Unlike its predecessor, the latest iteration of the spacious SUV is no longer just a rebadged Isuzu. Rather, it’s a full-fledged Honda with all of the qualities that buyers have come to expect from the Japanese automaker, including first-rate engineering, practical design, and a well-earned reputation for reliability and longevity.
Under the hood of the Passport, Honda has fitted its familiar 3.5-liter 280-horsepower V6, which provides motivation for a number of other Honda models, such as the Pilot. Paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox, it delivers smooth and ample power, if not stellar fuel economy. Versions with front-wheel drive return an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in mixed driving, while all-wheel-drive variants return one mpg less.
In typical Honda fashion, the Passport’s cabin is outfitted with comfortable seats, quality materials, and lots of clever storage solutions. Owners surveyed by consumer research specialist Strategic Vision rave about the SUV’s interior roominess, especially its generous 41 cubic inches of cargo space behind the second row.
The Passport comes relatively well equipped, particularly the midlevel EX-L and higher trims, which get leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power liftgate, a sunroof, and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration (which became standard for all trims in 2021). For additional goodies, consider one of the highest trim levels (Touring or Elite), which add luxuries such as parking sensors, heated rear seats, premium audio, and navigation.
Honda also gives the Passport a full suite of active safety tech. All trims get adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assist. EX-L and higher levels also boast a blind-spot warning system.
Honda Passport Model Lineup
The Passport is a midsize crossover SUV that seats five. It’s the mama bear in Honda’s SUV lineup, measuring some seven inches shorter than the three-row Pilot and a similar amount longer than the compact CR-V. It shares a platform and some components with several other Honda models, including the Odyssey minivan and the Ridgeline pickup.
Honda offers the Passport in a variety of trims, ranging from the base-level Sport to the top-end Elite. All are powered by a six-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Most trims come standard with front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available as an option. No hybrid or electric versions have yet been released.

Love it for how large it "feels" inside! Feels as roomy as larger, 3 row seat SUV's. It has a rear HVAC control but only one vent. Doesn't have rear vents for heat/cool

My Passport is functional more than fun; which is why I purchased it. I wanted a vehicle that could tow my teardrop trailer; but I did not want to purchase a truck.

This vehicle is ideal for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. If you plan on have anymore passengers buy or lease a larger vehicle.

2019 Honda Passport EX-L AWD
Currently I do not recommend purchasing a Honda Passport. The audio system is horrible. The speakers continuously crack and pop. Sounds like tiny rocks are hitting the windshield but it's the stereo system. Apparently this is a known issue but Honda doesn't have a fix for this issue. It's not something you can ignore either. Turning off the radio does not fix the problem.

It has GREAT ground clearance. Handles well. Looks great! Well built. Has an unbelievable amount of passenger room! Headlights are beyond bright. Plenty of cargo space. Fun car to drive.
