Honda CR-V Hybrid
Can you name the best-selling Honda vehicle in the U.S.? If you guessed the Civic or the Accord, you would be wrong. The title actually belongs to the Honda CR-V Hybrid, which has proven itself to be an overwhelming favorite for car buyers since its 2020 debut. One of the most affordable, reliable, fuel-efficient, and comfortable vehicles in its segment, the CR-V Hybrid checks a lot of boxes for most buyers. Yet, with anemic towing capacity and underwhelming vigor in the acceleration department, the CR-V Hybrid can’t quite claim perfection.

Honda CR-V Hybrid Model Lineup
The CR-V Hybrid takes Honda’s popular compact crossover SUV, the CR-V, and adds a hybrid powertrain. The five-seater is the only hybrid SUV in the Japanese automaker’s lineup and, in terms of size, slots between the subcompact HR-V and the midsize Passport. Like the standard CR-V, it shares a platform and some components with the Honda Civic, a compact sedan.
Honda offers the CR-V Hybrid in four trims: the entry-level LX (discontinued in 2021), the mid-tier EX, the luxury-leaning EX-L, and the top-of-the-line Touring. All versions come relatively well-equipped with standard features, including a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assist. In 2021, Honda also added a blind-spot warning system and a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
Motivating the CR-V Hybrid is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor that, together, can send as much as 212 horsepower to all four wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The CR-V Hybrid achieves 38 mpg in mixed driving, according to EPA estimates.

I feel very misled by the fuel economy stats and would not have bought a hybrid it feels like a waste of money and batteries. In the future I will buy full electric.

If I had known the gas mileage wasn't as good as my hybrid Accord I would've considered the Passport.

It is a great car to drive. I feel safe knowing I have good safety protection if I was in an accident. I am proud to own this vehicle.
