FIAT 500

In 2012, Fiat brought its charming city car, the 500, to the U.S. market. Inspired by the iconic original from the 1950s, the new 500 offers a playful take on the urban runabout, featuring a retro design (with both hatchback and convertible versions), nimble handling, and an affordable price tag. Driving enthusiasts can opt for the available Abarth version, which offers more spirited performance from its turbocharged engine and sport-tuned suspension. But not everything about the Fiat 500 is upbeat. For instance, its base 1.4-liter engine is often criticized for lackluster acceleration and disappointing fuel economy, and some find its ride quality overly firm. Additionally, but not surprisingly, the 500's small size won't be suitable for those in need of ample cargo or passenger space. Buyers should also note that Fiat discontinued the 500 in the U.S. after the 2019 model year.

Love the vehicle. Small but is very fun to drive. Our one son has graduated but we still have a 14 year old that lives with us. Only major problem is when the top is all the way down you cant see out rearview mirror. But very fun to drive and a great purchase at this time in our lives.

My wife has an SUV, so I don't need as much hauling utility from my car. It's a fun commuting car. Also, I drive up and over a hill each day, so I think the mileage I get is reasonable considering that.
