Chrysler 300

When people say, “They don’t make ‘em like they used to,” they could easily be talking about the Chrysler 300. It’s an old-school American family sedan with distinctively retro styling, a roomy cabin, and available V8 power. Chrysler introduced the 300 way back in 2005, and (aside from a notable 2011 update) it hasn’t changed much since. But that’s part of its charm. Owners of the 300 give it high marks for its creamy smooth ride, effortless power, and comfy interior, which gets loads of standard features on upper trim levels. On the downside, the 300’s age can also be a drawback. That’s evident in its fuel-thirsty engines, somewhat dated-looking interior design, and lack of standard active safety features.

Chrysler 300 Model Lineup

Produced from 2005 through 2023, the Chrysler 300 is a full-size luxury sedan with room for up to five passengers. It’s the largest sedan in the automaker’s lineup, measuring about six inches longer than the midsize 200 (which was produced through 2017). The 300 shares a platform and some components with the Dodge Challenger, which is built by Chrysler’s sister company within the Stellantis Group of automotive brands.

Chrysler has offered the 300 in a variety of trims through the years, including the entry-level 300 Touring, the mid-range 300 Touring L, the sporty 300S, the upscale 300 Limited, and the top-of-the-line 300C. As a luxury car, the 300 comes relatively well-equipped with features. Since 2015, a host of active safety tech and driving aids has been available on the 300, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation; however, they are either optional or limited to higher-level trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto became standard equipment across the lineup in 2017.

Since 2011, the 300 has come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, which produces 292 horsepower in most versions but is upgraded to 300 hp in the 300S trim. A 5.7-liter V8 producing 363 hp is also available on some higher-level trims and was made standard on the 300C starting in 2018. For 2023 only, the 300C boasts an even more powerful 6.4-liter V8 with 485 hp. All 300 versions come standard with an automatic transmission, which was upgraded from five to eight speeds in 2013 for V6-equipped models and in 2015 for those with a V8. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is offered as an option on some trims.

This is the second Chrysler 300 I have owned; had a 2006, traded it in for a Dodge Durango in 2009 and traded the Durango in during May, 2015 for my new 300. I am a Chrysler fan for life!!

Still occasionally frustrated with electronic shifter/gear selector. Notice it has changed on 2015 model.

The only glitch we are having right now is the text function does not work and I would think that this system should work with an iPhone the only thing I would like to be able to do is update to add navigation without breaking the bank

I love everything about the Chrysler, it satisfies in ways I didn't expect. My only complaint; Beats stereo SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS! 900 watt Harmon Kardon system should be standard in a vehicle of this caliber

Would like to see a 300 se come out. Which means sporty luxury and stretched a little bit like in lincoln town cars. Would like to see back door panels equipped with power ports, cell phone ports, aux and map lights built into seat for reading. I would buy one most likely
