Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has long been one of America's most popular pickups. It stands out in the full-size truck segment for its robust construction, impressive towing capacity, and wide variety of trims and equipment levels, which can take it from a basic work truck to a luxury cruiser. Despite these strengths, the Silverado 1500 isn't without its criticisms. Some find its interior design and materials subpar, especially on lower trims. Likewise, its ride quality can feel less refined than some of its primary rivals. Additionally, the rear seats in the Silverado's smaller cab styles may be a bit cramped for larger passengers, and fuel efficiency from its available V8 engines is mediocre at best.

The only issue is a vibration in the dashboard that comes and goes with no particular cause to start or stop.

My 2000 Silverado extended cab had far better visibility to the front and rear. Both have terrible turning radius.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 2WD

Buying the truck was easy and great. All of my complaints are with the lacking technology and wish that I would have paid more attention to it during the test drive. The turn-by-turn navigation system is a joke. Sad when a 4-year-old phone can use a simple navigation app or even worse when a 5-year-old Garmin can show directions by using a map and current location. Can only set the navigation via phone app or having to pay for OnStar. HD radio sucks. Stations sound like they skip due to them switching back and forth between regular and HD. When you turn HD off, it turns itself back on a few days later. Satellite radio... reception not all that great. Added it myself to the 2007 that I traded in and only lost signal in tunnels and parking garages. In my new 2014 manufacturer-installed truck, it goes out going down single-lane roads with trees close to the sides, going through drive-thrus, and even on the interstate if driving in the lane closest to trees on the side. Never had the issue on the same roads locations with a 7-year-old system.

When you take a call using Bluetooth, the main touch screen stays on the phone display after you hang up. Each time you have to manually reach over to switch the display screen to radio. The best use of the big display is for a non-touch purpose, which is the back up camera. Guess if I wanted to take my eyes off the road to use it to dial a phone number, it would work good for that as well. I really haven't found a reason for the large display which you can barely dim, which is an issue at night.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 2WD

I have only had my new 2014 Chevy Silverado a few months, but I really like it. It is very stylish and built for the task. It is a crew cab and meets our needs to be used as a pickup truck and a luxury car. It is the only vehicle we currently have. If we get another one later, it will be a car for my wife. Thank you Chevrolet for an awesome truck.
