About the team and position
The Arbitration Specialist plays a critical role in protecting Carvana from unnecessary costs while ensuring fair outcomes with auctions, sellers, and reconditioning partners. You’ll review vehicle condition data, validate against NAAA guidelines, and submit well-documented arbitration claims. This role requires sharp analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication to negotiate fair resolutions that support both our customers and our business.

What you’ll be doing

• Submit and manage NAAA, Title, and Logistics arbitration claims with accuracy and timeliness.
• Compare and validate information provided by reconditioning departments against Vehicle Condition Reports, manufacturer warranties, and NAAA arbitration policies.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data to determine claim eligibility and make sound arbitration recommendations.
• Negotiate transparent resolutions with auctions, sellers, and internal partners to drive favorable outcomes.
• Maintain detailed and accurate case records to ensure clear documentation and audit readiness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Reconditioning, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Track and report arbitration performance metrics; identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

What you should know

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled at negotiating with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets; familiarity with Jira & Tableau is a plus.
• Understanding of NAAA arbitration policies and auction processes preferred (training provided if not).
