What You’ll Do
Legal Support & Lease Administration
- Draft, review, and obtain approval for standard legal notices, landlord–tenant communications, and ancillary legal documents, under the supervision of a Manager.
- Conduct thorough lease reviews and abstracts on commercial leases; interpret lease provisions and identify key obligations, rights, and risks to support real estate, portfolio management, facilities, and legal teams.
- Lead or support lease administration workflow including estoppels, SNDAs, access requests, and other routine commercial real estate matters that do not require continuous attorney involvement.
- Support drafting efforts, review, and negotiation efforts in connection with commercial real estate leases, specifically related to lease terms, renewals, terminations, extensions, etc..
- Support lease commencement efforts, serving as a key point of contact internally and externally to coordinate lease commencement and site readiness efforts.
- Recommend and coordinate legal action as necessary; partner closely with Manager and Real Estate Legal for collaboration, or sign-off as needed.
- Work closely with Manager, Legal Operations and the broader team to identify legal workflow that can be more efficiently handled at this level, enabling attorney resources to remain focused on higher-complexity matters.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. In lieu of a degree, a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered. A paralegal certificate or similar credential is a meaningful plus.
- 8+ years of directly relevant experience in commercial real estate — lease administration, transactional commercial real estate, or a corporate in-house/legal environment with substantial commercial property exposure (office, retail, or industrial). Multifamily or residential property management experience alone does not meet the bar.
- Demonstrated ability to independently review, interpret, and issue-spot commercial leases, notices, amendments and related contracts or real property documents, with sound judgment on when a matter requires escalation to a team lead or attorney.
- Comfortable navigating sensitive, complex landlord/tenant and counterparty communications with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with real estate, portfolio management, facilities, market operations, expansion and launch and legal teams, and to influence outcomes and drive projects forward without formal authority over those teams.
- Proficiency in lease interpretation, contract review, and legal notice drafting; comfort with risk analysis and identifying when matters require escalation to an attorney.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Wrike (and similar project management) and other technology platforms and tools.
- Core proficiency utilizing AI tools with proven ability to create tested and reliable work product, leveraging AI resources responsibly to simplify legal and operational processes and tasks.
- Extensive organizational skills, advanced attention to detail, and strong initiative to independently complete tasks that drive greater team efficiencies.
- Enthusiasm and energy to thrive in a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment where roles continually adapt as the company evolves.
