- Raechelle C.APR 29, 20172013 Volvo XC60Las Vegas, NVI hate dealerships so I decided to try Carvana. The fact that I could browse vehicles and obtain financing right from my bed really appealed to me. In the end I ending up purchasing a 2013 Volvo XC60. Carvana was great about keeping me updated throughout the process. I was told than an outside carrier would be delivering my vehicle. The driver had a delay so my vehicle was delivered in the middle of the night. I was still a little drowsy but I did a quick inspection on the vehicle. The exterior of the car was filthy but the body of the car was in good condition. The interior was fairly clean. There were no floor mats in the car and there was some dirt tracked in on the drivers side. There was only 1 set of keys and no owners manual. The car drove well so I accepted the vehicle. I didn't notice the windshield panel on the passenger side was missing. I called Customer service to report this and they handled the situation promptly and agreed to pay to have the panel replaced. The representative emailed an owners manual and said they can send out some floor mats. I received my registration paperwork in the mail along with a $50 gift card and car charger. I was pleasantly surprised by the gifts. They were a nice touch. Overall I would say my experience so far is OK. I liked the ease of the online buying process and the customer service so far. The missing windshield panel, floor mats, and owner's manual were the negatives. The cleanliness of the car was also not a strong point. Don't want to focus on the negatives but to let you know-- - called about the listed car color which was not correct in the ad (was not a Volvo listed color). Never got a reply. - paid cash via wire transfer. Was pushed for a cashiers check but ultimately got the guy who called me to confirm that I had the funds available and no issue. - same guy telling me that I had 15 minutes to look at the car when delivered and 15 minutes for my wife and I to test drive it seemed a bit pushy and unnecessary. - no owners manual in car but Shaurice, the great delivery person, took note to get me one. There were some glitches in the processes of first, problems with the site having difficulty accepting my trade-in information and second, having a problem overlooked with the vehicle even though one that was identified was handled. Both incidents took extra time in completing the purchase. The second has made it necessary for me to go to the dealership for service which I had hoped to avoid. The idea of purchasing the car online, avoiding dealerships and having it delivered to my door was most impressive. What was distinctive about the Carvana experience was way in which the problems were handled. Every advocate was apologetic, admitted the mistakes and set about fixing them as quickly as possible. Every advocate was also polite and respectful, which goes a long way with a senior citizen like myself who was leery about this process of buying a car. I would give Carvana a 5 star rating for customer service and a 4 star for attention to detain in the pre-delivery inspection. They put it back in the "machine" and the "machine" locked up and the car wouldn't come out. Not sure I get the point of the machine. I would have been happy if they just pulled it around to the front and let us look at it. Lots of back and forth using 3rd party financing made the process painful plus this weird requirement to do 3-way phone call to verify funds in my checking account. I think my last purchase at a dealer was easier. Just took letter from credit union and they did everything right there. I like the car but I felt like it wasn't as clean as it could be. I absolutely hate going to dealerships and giving my "3 walk away rule" to the sales people...meaning they walk away from me 3 times to "check with someone" and on that third time I am gone. I didn't speak with a single person until my car was delivered. The price was quite lower than comparable dealers like CARMAX and other non-haggle places. There was no 2-3 hour deal making conversation, 1-2 hour finance process, 1-2 hours of waiting around or general aggravation. I did the entire thing from my PC in my home office in about an hour and that includes gathering the necessary documents. I started on this past Saturday and the car was delivered on Tuesday. I submitted all my paperwork online and I was able to receive the car on the delivery date I requested from the start. It really worked just like they advertised, no hidden fees or surprises. The delivery crew was professional and patient in going over the paperwork with me. There were some scratches to the hood of the vehicle that happened during the transport. The delivery crew pointed those out and promised to have those repaired. I still have to go through the process of getting that taken care of, so assuming that goes smoothly, I can't complain. I would recommend Carvana improve the way they communicate steps in the process between filling out the paperwork and receiving the vehicle. I didn't actually receive a confirmation until just a few days before the delivery when a loan officer contacted me and let me know everything was in order and they didn't need anything further. For me this worked out fine in my case but I can see how it might be frustrating if the loan needed adjustment or were rejected.Read More5.0 OUT OF 5

I wouldn't have believed it to be true if I didn't drive to Atlanta from North Carolina to pickup my car which was waiting for me behind door #3 (lol)! The entire process took less than a day to get everything done, with no hassle from a dealer! I filled out the application online Thursday afternoon and by Friday morning I was ready to pickup my car. Only I had to wait until Saturday to do so.
