I just returned my 2nd vehicle and was disappointed for the 2nd time unfortunately. 1st vehicle (MERCEDES BENZ 2014) returned because check engine light came on, there was more damage than noted on the website, car was not cleaned/detailed satisfactorily, and there was a noted mechanical problem (transmission issue) that was confirmed by a certified Mercedes mechanic. Ok, so i thought, even though i was disappointed and felt that these items shouldve been resolved prior to delivery (as declared by Carvana via their 150 point check and vehcile certification), i decided to give Carvana another chance. I returned to the website, after some research, chose another vehicle, only to find out the trade in value on my current Mercedes had been changed by $800. I called to discuss the issue and was accused by the rep that i had driven the car 5000 miles since the last estimate. This was not the case since i had just received my car back that day and had not driven at all. The issue was in the initial stages of the first sale and had been agreed upon with my original purchase. My expecation was to utilize my original estimate since i purchased another vehicle within days of the first. We all agreed and moved on to the current vehicle, a beautiful looking 2015 Audi A5. The car was finally delivered today, August 4, 2017 and much to my dismay, the check engine light came on, there were mutliple scratches that were not noted on the website, there was extreme paint discoloration on the roof by the "moonroof", car was not detailed, leaking manifold (yikessss), and the final kicker - the "moonroof" on the website was described as "panoramic", which this was not. The sunroof had not tracks and only popped up. So that item was totally misrepresented. There were a couple other items not in the entertainment package that were noted on the website - they do not exist in this car. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! I am so thankful for my mechanic being there instead of wasting the 7 days and accepting a vehicle that was subpar. What happens during the "Carvana 150 point check and certification"? NOTHING MUCH from what i have seen on 2 occassions.
I refused the vehicle and the young lady that delivered the car encouraged me to try again and reassured me the third time would be a charm. I returned to the website a couple of hours after she left and choose another vehicle. I tried to call the 800 number and was hung up on. I treid to call back and got frustrated, hung up. I then tried to contact Carvana via chat and after waiting 15 minutes for the next chat operator the operator ended the chat without answering my question. I just wanted to confirm that Carvana would honor my original trade in for my vehicle since its only been 2 weeks since my first transaction and i have put about 100 miles on my car during that time (i dont drive alot). I mean REALLY. Its not like im trying to purchase A MONTH OR 2 OR MORE LATER. This is all within 2 weeks and due to Carvana sending vehicles that are mechanically INEPT. So i think any REASONABLE company would continue to honor my trade due to all the inconvenience as well as the short period of time. I also feel that, since both cars are late model luxury vehicles, it should not have to worry about check engine lights within the first day of purchase!
This has caused me so much time researching and choosing cars, then wasting time, calling, being hung up on, receiving vehicles that are not checked, etc. I HATE WASTING MY TIME AND ENERGY. And in the end I AM STILL STRESSED OUT AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CAR THAT MEETS THE STANDARDS THAT CARVANA PROMISES.
YES. IM DISGRUNTLED AND VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. I REALLY wanted this to work. :(
