It was such a good experience that it's hard to pick the best parts, but: 1. Being able to inspect the car online. The 2011 VW GTI I saw online was basically identical to the one that got delivered to my house, right down to the tiny paint chip on the hood. 2. Not having to deal with a salesman. I browsed cars. I tweaked my financing options. I waffled. I committed. I test drove my car. All without any pressure or rush. I was so nervous about making such a big purchase that I'm pretty sure if I'd had to go through a dealership, I wouldn't have bought a car at all. 3. Everyone I talked to at Carvana was so friendly. And not just "I want to sell you something" friendly. I bought my car last week, and was just a little disappointed that the t-shirt that came in my gift bag was too big for me. They called me back today to tell me a smaller t-shirt was in the mail. Wow. And, of course, I love my car. I got a great rate and a reasonable down payment but my interest rate did run a little high but I expected that. I couldn't get approved anywhere else because I work for tips and it's difficult to prove what I make . With Carvana, I was able to prove my deposits and they didn't question where they were coming from, as long as I had income coming in. Sent in my income verification, and all required documents (proof of deposits and account number for deposit verification). Approved within 24 hours. Awesome. Long story short, I received my car on time with no issues. I immediately noticed my hub cap VW logo was missing but Hannah (the driver who brought my car) assured me that she had already put in an order and that I would receive the replacement in the mail. She also told me that I could test drive the car for as long as I needed before she left (despite the website saying 10-15 minutes). This was a nice touch. We noticed a lot of dog hair through out the car which was kind of disappointing bc that could've been taken care of through a good detailing but this wasn't a deal breaker. Car still looked and smelled clean on the surface level. No biggie. Dog hair can be removed by my own efforts. I did find a few scuffs that weren't shown on the website but again, nothing that was a deal breaker, pretty standard for a used 2011. I accepted the car and signed my paperwork. The very next day, my father (a mechanic) noticed the back rotors were completely worn (brake pads had been replaced but not rotors) and we also had issues with the battery dying in between drives. Battery was pretty much shot. This should've been easy to spot if they truly did a 120 point inspection. Trying not to panic, I took it to an ASE Certified dealer to get those two things replaced with the Silverrock Warranty provided by Carvana. My car was in the shop for a whole day but everything was replaced and covered by the warranty and Carvana extended my 7 day test drive to 8 days for the trouble. This was relieving and almost made up for the inconvenience. Shortly after, I received a 20 dollar credit to spend in their online store. Shipping was free for what I purchased so I got a free car charger, window cover, and phone vent clip for GPS. I found this to be pretty awesome. Yesterday I received my VW logo in the mail but I am still awaiting my registration information. I assume this will go without a hitch. So far my experience has been awesome and I would definitely recommend Carvana to anyone who has reasonable expectations when buying a used car. Used cars aren't perfect and that's what important to remember. Carvana will take care of any issues your having and that will ease your mind more than anything. It was a disappointing experience. Even though the driver came bearing gifts, my displeasure at seeing how poorly the car had been "detailed" was greater than any delight I may have received from the gifts. The website talks about the cost that Carvana bears to detail each car. With the exception of the terrific appearance of the engine bay I found dirty windows, dirty hard plastic interior surfaces and dirty mats and carpet. I can't decide if Carvana employees "planted" the disgustingly scented air fresheners under the front seats or if the "detailers" just missed them when they "detailed" the interior. It appeared that the car had gotten a local $12 carwash instead of a detail job. The price on the car was very fair. Completing my order on the website was painless and fast. Carvana telephone staff are top-notch and I have already recommended the company to many acquaintances with the caveat that the car may arrive in unclean and smelly condition. We were so shocked about how quick and easy the process was considering the last vehicle we purchased we spent over 5 hours at the dealership! I love how easy it was to upload the necessary documents and be done. I used a trade in and was satisfied with the amount offered for it. It was a neat experience to watch the Carvana truck pull up with our new car on it. The guy delivering the car was nice and friendly and showed up a little early after calling to let me know. Another great thing is that extra and higher payments to your account actually go towards your principal. After all that goodness, I did experience some annoyances. We received rain for multiple days after having the car. We noticed that the windshield wipers leave a large steak on the driver side making it hard to see out. They need to be replaced. While driving, the low tire pressure light went off. After checking the tire pressure, it's not low according to the chart on the car but the light has yet to go off. I know it's a used car but one would hope not to experience those things the first week of getting it considering the 150 point inspection. Would I recommend Carvana to anyone? Absolutely, but I would also strongly encourage them to check the car from top to bottom just to ensure everything is okay.Read More4.7 OUT OF 5
