- Blain Neal U.JUN 1, 20182015 Volkswagen PassatLeander, TXWe bought a 2015 VW passat Tdi with manual transmission. Selecting a vehicle was super easy. There was a slight problem where I couldn't access the carfax report, but the carvana associate I chatted with was super friendly and emailed me the car fax report for the vehicle that we wanted to purchase. The next part (and the only part that doesn't really ask for a rating), was the paperwork/funding portion of the purchase. First of all, carvana interest rate was super high. I dont remember exactly what it was, but it was either 5+% or 6+%. I went with my credit union and got their best rate of 2.39%. Next was probably my least favorite experience with carvana and that was the funding part. At a dealership, I hand them the approval letter from my credit union and they take care of the rest. Not with Carvana. With carvana, they wanted me to call my bank and wanted me to send my bank the paperwork for the purchase agreement and wanted me to find out how my bank will fund the loan. Then if it were to be a check, they would have wanted me to get images of the check from my bank and send to carvana and to provide the tracking information for the check. Then when my bank contacted carvana about the payment I had to call carvana to verify that they had what they needed. They then said they didn't see it, and asked what email the credit union used to email them. So I had to call the credit union again and ask what email and then call back carvana to tell them so they could find it and let my purchase proceed to the next step. It just seems like they could take this part away from the customer and do the leg work. I sent them my bank information so they could have easily done this all for me. Now the best part was the delivery. Alyssia delivered our car and was super friendly and helpful. She went over everything and made sure we were all set before she left. I cannot compliment Alyssia enough. She even texted back days later to check back on us and provide additional support. If carvana reads this review, they should give Alyssia a promotion to manager or something where she can make sure that everyone else follows her lead because she is the main reason I would use carvana again and the reason I would tell others to use carvana again. This girl is either going to get promoted within the company or she is going to start her own business one day and thrive.Read More4.5 OUT OF 5
- Robert L.JAN 12, 20192015 Volkswagen PassatCastalia, NCThe first car I ordered would've been delivered and had to have been returned immediately had I not caught a significant discrepancy (manual transmission vs automatic). I made arrangements for a second car to be delivered and all was well...until that date had to be pushed from a weekend day to a weekday (which made it really inconvenient for me) so it turned into a pick up at the nearest "vending machine". Made an appt for 0900. The place doesn't even open the doors until 09:15. Then, I had to wait for them to bring it around because it was out being fueled.Read More2.8 OUT OF 5
- Mark R.MAY 1, 20172015 Volkswagen PassatGreer, SCI am right now in the 7-day "check and decide" period but, up to this point, this has been an outstanding buying experience. It is clear to me that Carvana is placing a very heavy emphasis on customer service and a clean and hassle-free buying experience. Well done, I will refer many to Carvana.Read More4.8 OUT OF 5
- Lawrence W.JAN 24, 20172015 Volkswagen PassatSmyrna, TNOne of my biggest challenges associated with purchasing a car in the amount of time you have to spend withe the dealer. (It can literally take all day). You have constant sales calls while your trying to make a decision, just because you stopped by a dealer. The attitude of most salesman is "what do I have to say to get you to close TODAY". And then there is the countless hours with the internal finance people as they destroy you credit profile while shopping your interest rate to get what offers the most advantages, (not necessarily for you). All of this can be annoying, but, with Carvana it's a whole new experience minus all of the things that make you dread having to buy a car. NO pushy sales people, NO constant up-sales, NO all day waiting to meet with a finance manager, or credit probes for the best advantage. Best of all, the whole process can take place from your home. You find your car, arrange your financing, (with your bank or Carvana's), and close the deal anytime day or night from the comfort of your home. You car arrives at your door at a scheduled time and your done, what could be easier than that? And did I mention that the car selection is enormous. You can filter style, color, and even make & model.Read More4.8 OUT OF 5
- Zachary S.JUL 30, 20162013 Volkswagen PassatVilla Rica, GAWhen it's all said and done, I like the car I bought. Nearly every Carvana employee I spoke to directly was very friendly and helpful to the best of their ability. Purchase and financing was ridiculously easy. With that being said, there were some disappointing problems that left much to be desired from the overall buying experience. Carvana had to reschedule our delivery/pickup three times! We were offered a rental, but declined since we had our own vehicle to drive in the meantime. First there was an open recall (Takata airbag) that pushed back our delivery date. When I asked specifically about it, they tried to play it off as if it they had just found out about it in the time since I purchased the vehicle, even though the recall had been issued several months earlier. After several days, Carvana contacted us again to inform us that they couldn't make the repairs, which should not have been a surprise since there is not yet a remedy for the recall. After an entirely unnecessary delay, we were given the option to choose another vehicle or sign a waiver and accept the one we wanted with the open recall—we chose the latter. We rescheduled for pickup in Atlanta but were later notified that the vehicle would not be available on the day we scheduled. Was told the car was two hours away in Winder, GA. Then, we were contacted again that the car would not be there on time for this next rescheduled appointment. This time Carvana said the vehicle was on its way from Texas! After two weeks of weak excuses and conflicting information about why Carvana couldn't keep our appointments, I came very close to not purchasing the vehicle. There were several issues upon pickup as well. The detail was sub-par at best There were sections that missed being washed (very obvious on a white car). The fender wells were muddy. The floor mats were in the trunk but still had some muddy footprints that didn't get washed off. Two tires were mismatched off-brand tires. At least they were new, but I would have rather just had the money they spent on them to put towards a decent set. The gas tank was almost empty, but they did give us a prepaid visa giftcard to fill it up. Neither of the two key fobs for the car worked! At first I assumed dead batteries, but both had to be programmed to the car. Due to the technology features of the car, we were actually unable to lock the car the first day or two which was a bit of a problem. Luckily I was able reprogram the remotes on my own which avoided an inconvenient trip to the dealership. I'm sure Carvana would have reimbursed us for getting the keys programmed if it came down to it, but the problem is that someone along the way had to know that was an issue and passed it along to a customer anyway. Also we were supposed to transfer our old tag to this vehicle. This was specifically noted, and I sent in all the required documents to do so….Instead we got a new one in the mail a few weeks later. It's not the particular tag I wanted for the vehicle, but there was no extra cost because of it. Carvana is still a young company and will probably improve as time goes on—a hiccup along the way is forgivable, but all of this was too much. I don't regret buying the car, but I remain undecided for now as to whether or not I purchase another vehicle from Carvana.Read More3.5 OUT OF 5
- Laurel C.JUN 5, 20162015 Volkswagen PassatColumbia, SCUnlike I normally am, I got wishy-washy with my decision on which car to purchase. Not only was the online experience amazing, so was the live telephone customer service. I changed my mind twice and each time received the most pleasant customer service. I won't buy another car at a conventional dealer again! The lack of pressure was amazing and knowing I had a 7-day test drive made the risk so low it was crazy not to do it.Read More4.7 OUT OF 5
