Carvana has a really streamlined way to shop for a car without having the hassle of sales people, upselling, and convenience of doing everything from home. Think CarMax but only online. I can fault them on the sales and post sale customer service I've experienced.
There are still some fundamental issues with this company that most, if not all, used car sales lots come with. First if you're not comfortable with automotive inspections, take it to someone!
During my second day of ownership, I discovered there was mold in the trunk where the spare tire lives. This wasn't necessarily a fault of the company because my car did have a warrantable issue with leaking tail lights causing water to enter the trunk. The issue was it wasn't addressed properly while in Carvana's hands.
During my third day, I discovered the passenger side door was repainted with my paint gauge! Upon further inspection, I noticed the paint texture wasn't matching the neighboring panels which couldn't be seen from certain angles and lighting. The window trim also has some overspray. This is textbook cheap auto repair for used car lots to dress up the car so it looks just good enough. These cheap repairs always terrify me because the repair will last just long enough so you're out of the warranty period but it will definitely not outlast OEM paint. In fact, I've already started noticing flaky clear coat in the "repaired" area. I'm currently in the process of having Carvana pay for the repair from a shop of my choice since I do not trust their recommended service shops.
