I was thrilled to not have to spend hours at a dealership, but in the future I think I would endure it. This is why:
I bought a luxury vehicle from Carvana. With that, I expected a higher caliber of service. Maybe I expected too much.
This was my first purchase with Carvana, so I thought that when I made an appointment to pick up my car in Tempe that I was going to have that time devoted to me. When I showed up, there was one employee and two people ahead of me. When it was my turn, paperwork didn't take long, I looked over the car, and was offered to take a test drive.
Differences from a dealer:
1. The Carvana employee didn't know how to operate all the features on my Mercedes. Since this was my first Mercedes, I now have to read the manual and watch videos to try and figure everything out. Two weeks later, I am still trying to learn.
2. One of the car fobs didn't work. When I called, Carvana told me to go to the dealership. I did, and Carvana gave me a car fob with NO battery. The dealer gave me one for free.
3. After a week, I needed to clean my windshield. Carvana didn't put any windshield cleaning fluid in my car. Very disappointing.
4. There is an open recall on my vehicle. Carvana was transparent with this when I bought the car. Of course, this is another thing I need to go to the dealer for
5. Whereas you get your vehicle detailed from a dealership, Carvana simply washed it and vacuumed it. There were water spots all over the vehicle and a part of the inside of the windshield was dirty.
Carvana saved me about 1k dollars. However, I wonder if it was worth the lack of customer service and support.
