I set out to go car shopping with my wife one Saturday and she was all for it. THEN I sat down on the couch and tried to map out a course of action/attack. Buying a cars in the past was such an ordeal that I figured I had to have a game plan for this go-round. I had seen the billboards for Carvana but had never considered using the site. I checked out a few of the popular car buying websites and thought I had figured out where we were headed when we finally left the house.
Then I came across Carvana. It was very crisp and quite professional/upscale looking. It really looked like a place I was NOT in the position to shop. My initial impression was that these cars are gonna be far and away outside of my budget. I still searched just in case I was to be in the market later on. When I clicked on a car and then it was locked from others to shop, I became even more intrigued. Next, I read that there would be a "soft" pull from my credit if I took a shot and tried the pre-qualifying feature. That nearly sold me completely on the site because I have been diligently working hard to repair and re-establish my credit and didn't want any unnecessary blemishes to appear or negatively impact my rising credit score.
After I was pre-qualified and the time on the car that I was interested in was extended, I was all in! I ended up buying a car. I was so overwhelmed by the entire experience that I bought the wrong car... I have no experience in driving a stick shift but that's what I bought. I was in a panic. I had just electronically signed all of the paperwork and accepted the financing options for a car I couldn't drive. Sadly, I called C.S. and only after an extremely brief moment while expecting to be given even more bad news about not being able to change my mind or get another car, I got an extremely kind voice on the phone and he reassured me that all was not lost. He removed the "mistake" from my account and then helped me find other options that I would really be satisfied with. I thanked him and hung up. I proceeded to complete the buying process again on one of my choosing only to finish up and realize I had bought another stick-shift!! See, the first stick-shift mistake was a product of me rushing though the process excitedly. The second error was the product of an incorrect description. I discovered the second error when checking closely the picture of the car. At a glance, The shifter looked like an automatic but after checking with C.S. it was confirmed that it was a manual shifter. ManAlive!! The new agent was just as friendly and very helpful too. I don't blame anyone for the second error. Human error could occur at any time. I am just so pleased with the patience the Carvana Agents had with me. I finally found three that I was ready to choose between and the third time was a charm! I finished up and expected my car to be delivered the following Tuesday, Three days from then. The delivery was free as advertised and the rep who delivered the car was professional and courteuous. I even received a few thank you gifts for my purchase! The entire experience was exhilarating and fulfilling. I got a great car at a good price with excellent financing options suited to my specific credit worthiness. The plan is to NEVER go back to the dealership again. This was awesome.
