- Alan O.MAY 4, 20162014 Chevrolet Captiva SportTrussville, ALWe just purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva LT with just a few hundred miles over 28,000, and I am very impressed with the Carvana experience. All of the interactions I had with the online staff were very professional and helpful, and the delivery driver was great as well. There are only a few little things that are drawbacks. First is that you really need to drive a similar car before you go down this route--I know Carvana has a seven day return, which is very generous, but still, I think it helps to sort of have an idea of what to expect before it's dropped on your driveway. We drove a similar model at a local dealership, so I knew more of what I should be looking for. Another thing is that despite the incredibly detailed photos and descriptions, there are still some minor scuffs and scratches and dings and things that just don't show up in photos, particularly inside the car. Although nothing we've found so far would have been a deal-breaker or made us want to turn the car back in, there were still a few more interior flaws than I was expecting. The one thing that was the biggest annoyance is that although the car showed up having just been washed at a nearby automatic car wash (I assume by the local prep staff), there were greasy or smudgy finger/handprints at every single door where someone had grabbed the paint instead of the door handle or window frame. It wouldn't have been quite so noticeable, but the car is metallic black, and everywhere there WEREN'T handprints was just gorgeous. I thought these smudges would be easy enough to get off, but after using several different products, I wound up having to use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and an hour of intense upper arm exercise to get them out. This obviously wasn't something anyone thought about when it happened, but I would have been pretty perturbed if I wound up having to take it somewhere and have it machine polished. As it is, it looks like I've managed to get them off well enough and I'm still very pleased with the car. I believe I got a very good deal, and despite the few minor niggles, I would certainly recommend Carvana to anyone. I liked not having to deal with the sales manager and dicker over the doc fee and dumb markups and all the other things that make buying from a traditional dealer less than pleasant.Read More5.0 OUT OF 5
- Richard Z.JAN 4, 20182015 Chevrolet MalibuRoswell, GAI purchased a car from Carvana about a month ago in Nov 2017 from the Atlanta area. Finding the car was easy enough and the information on the car seems pretty much accurate and it was a decent price. Pros and Cons listed below. Pros- Received a referral bonus for 500 dollars. Also, they took off another 500 dollars for Black Friday (if you purchased the car on Black Friday weekend they had an offer to take 1000 dollars off. I was still in the time frame so they made up the difference. Nice of them in a way, or else I might have returned the car and started the process over anyway). The car was clean and in good shape. Cons- I went through Delta Community Credit Union which was kind of a hassle even though they are partnered with Carvana. A lot of leg work here which made the whole process not as convenient as they advertise. The reason I did this was for a better APR rate and I heard that Carvana uses a third party sub prime lender which looks bad on your credit. I signed up for automatic payments for the car, but that somehow got messed up and I got a letter saying I had a late fee. Delta did waive this fee after I talked to them, but still it was a hassle. Another inconvenience (they are basing their business on convenience right?) was a couple days before the car was scheduled to be delivered, the Atlanta office called to say that they couldn't deliver the car and if I wanted delivery it had to reschedule for the following week. This was too late for me, so I had to make the drive down into Atlanta myself and it took the entire afternoon to get my car (they were busy with many customers). I've heard some people say that they got a gas card for having to pick up their car, but nothing was offered here. Lastly, the car did have a couple of minor issue. I had the car go through an independent inspection at a mechanic shop and later at a dealership. They both said that the thermostat was bad and would mostly blow cold air. The car was still under factory warranty so that repair was free, it just cost me two trips to the dealership and an afternoon (not super convenient though eh?) How did both of these services detect this and not Carvana? Also the car was handed over almost at the point of it needing an oil change and it needed tire alignment. I think there was about 20% oil life left, but this seems like an easy thing for Carvana to take care of while inspecting the car. Tire alignment is recommended at 20,000 miles which it was slightly over so I paid for that as well. Also, the plates and registration did come sort of late. I was told 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. I had to call after 4 weeks passed and the plates did come the next week. Who knows if this was prompted by me calling or them getting around to it. All in all, not a terrible service, but from my experience, the "convenience" advertised as compared to going out and buying from a dealership wasn't really there.Read More3.0 OUT OF 5
- David C.AUG 23, 20172014 Chevrolet EquinoxDuvall, WAWe heard about Carvana on the ABC National News. At the time we were shopping around for a smaller SUV at the local dealers. Couldn't seem to get anything for a good price unless it had really, really, high mileage and even then it wasn't so great, so we checked out Carvana. It has been a great buying experience. The people were very helpful from start to finish. We had been shopping around our city for awhile so we were pretty aware of the pricing. We believe we saved around $3000. No extra paper processing and dealership fees, just taxes and a straight forward registration fee. Although we don't live near a Carvana, they delivered the car to us across the country for $200. If we weren't happy, we could return it with no further return delivery fees. We had a whole week to drive it around and get it looked at. Also, they gave a thousand mile insurance policy. No one offered anything like that around here. When we go to buy another car we aren't going to waste time with the dealers, it will be straight to Carvana for us. Hoping they open a center near us soon.Read More4.7 OUT OF 5

- Felix L.NOV 23, 20162014 Chevrolet EquinoxBrooklyn, NYI held off on my reviewing until I could get some perspective. First of all, this is a totally new way to buy a car. The whole process appealed to me because it eliminated the need to go to a dealer and deal with their bait and switch nonsense. So I found a car I liked with the price I liked. The whole online process was great, where carvana became tediuous was in the logistic side of things. I wanted the car delivered to New York City and apparently this was out of their delivery zone. It took them a whole week to get that fixed. Then when I sent in my financing info it that took almost a week to get sorted out. Just bear in mind that you can walk into a dealer and walk out in one afternoon with a car. That includes financing. The delivery process was also complicated, since I was out of the local delivery zone, we had to use a second party company and they showed up one day before they were supposed to which forced me to rush home to meet the delivery guy, then he did not have any paper work with him which had to be emailed to me when I called to complain. Long story short. Carvana has their heart in the right place. The car was absolutely gorgeous. They were nice enough to send us a gift package that included a 50 dollar gift card. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that all the inconveniences I went through were just growing pains. Like I said, we are very happy with the car. I hope the hiccups we went through were just blips on the radar. Without those blips it would have been an absolute pleasure.Read More4.0 OUT OF 5

- David K.FEB 17, 20172014 Chevrolet VoltIndian Trail, NCThe cars web site is well made and provides lots of information. The pictures provide a real view of the car and they are all made consistently so that you can evenly compare them - with perfect lighting. Paperwork done on the Internet was easy. Only real challenge was getting my driver's license scan and proof of insurance into their system. That took a few tries, but not so much trouble to deduct any stars. The car was delivered very courteously by Jonathan and I was able to take a no-pressure test drive. Car was in better exterior condition than I thought that it would be. Even the blemishes were hard to see when I knew that they were there. The seven day test drive is going nicely and this car looks like a keeper.Read More5.0 OUT OF 5
- David L.OCT 17, 20162014 Chevrolet VoltHutto, TXThe car is great! Carvana needs some improvement. I added 3 similar 2014 Chevy Volts to my "garage" and after about a week I went through the steps to purchase it but stopped where it asked me to upload a scan of my insurance and driver license. The car was not exactly what I wanted so I stopped the process for another week then found the perfect car on 10-9-16 and continued with the purchase all the way through. I spoke to Carvana several times for about a week and the car was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday 10-15-16. Since the Chevy Volt is an electric car with a range extending gasoline generator I asked if the battery would be fully charged and both advocates that I talked to said they would request that in my account notes. About 3 days before the delivery my credit union contacted me with the loan information that I was to e-sign online but when I read the VIN I saw that it was the other car that I never finished the process with and what was really weird is that my loan officer setup the loan for BOTH cars! I was finally able to get the loan setup for the right car and everything seem good at that point. On Saturday morning about 3 hours before my car was to be delivered, I called Carvana to make sure the battery was charged and I wanted to know the status of the car. She told me that ALL electric cars at Carvana get a full charge then she put me on hold to try and find the driver delivering my car which she was not able to do. About an hour later and 30 minutes before the car was scheduled to be delivered I received a call from the driver. He told me he was just a few miles away and could be at my house soon. He arrived right on time and the car looked great! What was not so great was that the battery was almost empty. He apologized for this blaming it on someone else. I was in the process of installing a Level 2 charger anyway so it was no big deal and I knew I could use the included slow 120 VAC charger in the meantime. The test drive was great and the driver loaded up my trade in and we filled out paperwork. After he left, I went to charge the car using the slow charger but the ground plug was bent and broke off when I tried to plug it in. I found out the car with not accept a charge from an ungrounded charging cable so I had to use the car on generator power until I setup my Level 2 charger. Once that was working I charged the car in 4 hours and enjoyed driving it in pure electric mode for almost 40 miles. The only other complaint I have is the condition of the inside of the vehicle. It was not cleaned very well and the inside of the windshield and all windows with foggy looking from not being clean. I was able to clean them myself but when you pay $17K for a used car from a dealer, you expect it to be clean. The last call to Carvana they told me to take the broken charger to the nearest Chevy dealer and let them decide if it is covered under warranty. I my self could easily repair the cable but I should not have to so I am going to let Carvana figured out what to do next.Read More3.3 OUT OF 5
