Keep that in mind as you continue reading. My first purchase with Carvana in December 2015 was excellent. The car I purchased was delivered exactly as it was listed on their site. Imperfections listed accurately. I knew what I was buying and was okay with it. Upon delivery, it had the new car smell and glossy body shine. Best money saving car buying experience ever. Fast forward to June 2017 and I'm back on their site looking for another car due to the previous one being totaled in an accident. I felt confident returning to Carvana for this purchase. I reserved my car online and eagerly waited for the "viewing" notice to be sent when it was ready. Once the notice came in my email box, I made sure to review the listing and photos thoroughly. I went to two local dealers to price compare and see what was available around the same price mark. Of course, the dealers were more $$$ but the condition of the cars were excellent as was the low mileage. There is a certain pride when it is an Acura. I decided to go through the purchase with Carvana. On day of delivery, I waited outside and could not wait to take it for a test drive. As I looked it over I noticed imperfections not listed on the site. When I opened the driver door, an odor wafted passed me. As I looked inside, I immediately noticed extreme wear/tear/fading on steering wheel, clutch, dash trim, and interior leather. Ashes and grime in between the leather seats in the back. I drove it and the car read all tires had uneven air pressure. Two different tire brands too. My high spirits deflated. I was confused and at a loss for words at that moment. I went through the motions of signing for the car and the very kind Carvana employee looked at me and said, "I will have a local auto detailer contact you to schedule a detail for you, on us." I think I felt a bit better knowing that it just wasn't me that realized the car was delivered the worst for wear. I spent the next 45 minutes looking over the car thoroughly and taking pictures of glaring grit, grime, dirt, dust, rust, fading, scratches, and lack luster condition of the car. All things that were not shown in the photos, or on the listing, via the Carvana site. What looked to be in mint condition online was not what was delivered. I called Customer Service and kindly expressed my disappointment. I emailed "repairs" and they offered to refund me $300 for the pictures I sent them. I just paid $23k for a 2014 Acura TL w/ Tech shown to be, and advertised, as "reconditioned" to showroom standard and $300 is fair?!! I just paid $250 for a second key alone! The clock is running out on my 7-day return decision and no response from repairs about my question regarding how the heck did this car pass their high inspection process and why was it delivered to me in this filthy worn condition. It's been a hassle getting the car detailed asap so I have to request an exception on my 7-day return policy. The biggest stinker, if I return this car, I have to the go through the process of undoing the financing with my financial institution and be left without a car for God knows how much longer! Carvana failed me this time. They sold me a "worn out stinker" and put me through the wringer mentally and emotionally. This is not how car buying should be. I was a huge sceptic at first because the process just seemed too good to be true. However, now I am a forever customer! Each person I spoke with was very helpful and friendly. The young lady who brought the car to my house was simply the sweetest person. The financing was super easy and the rate was better than what my personal bank could offer. When I went to pick up my car that process was also simple and fast he showed me the car inside and went over the outside with me I was in and out in about 30 mins unlike going to a dealership.
