OverviewFord Expedition

The Ford Expedition is a full-size sport-utility vehicle based on Ford's popular full-size pickup truck platform. With rear- or four-wheel drive and seating for as many as nine adults, the Expedition has long been on the short list of vehicle choices for full-size families as well as anyone who needs the combination of versatility and grunt provided by a large SUV. Discover the ins and outs on used Ford Expeditions, available now in Carvana's inventory.

NOTEWORTHY FEATURES

Strong V6 Engine

Standard on all models of the Ford Expedition is a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of producing 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Got a heavy load you need to haul? No problem. When properly equipped, the Expedition can tow up to 9,200 pounds.

Easy Folding Rear Seats

Generally speaking, there's plenty of room for the Expedition's passengers to stretch out and get comfortable. Not only do the second-row seats slide forward and back to create more space, but they recline to boot. Furthermore, the rear seats fold easily into the floor when more cargo room is needed.

Roomy Third-Row Seating

Speaking of those rear seats, the Expedition's third-row seating is an upgrade over many similarly sized SUVs in its class. Unlike many SUVs, the Expedition's third-row seating can very comfortably seat children and adults alike.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

Parking

Make no mistake. While the Expedition is uber accommodating for its occupants, it can be a bear to handle for the person behind the wheel. Due to its overall bulk, the Expedition is difficult to park if you need to stuff yourself in a small parking space or squeeze into a spot on the street.

Interior Look And Feel

For the most part, the Expedition offers a fairly classy and upscale look and feel. However, one can't help but notice the presence of lower-grade surface materials and controls that somewhat clash with the cabin's overall high-quality features.

Fuel Economy

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as the Expedition is not a vehicle that is light on its feet. Per EPA estimates, the rear-wheel-drive version of the Expedition gets 18 mpg combined (16 mpg city/22 mpg highway), while the four-wheel-drive model drops slightly to 17 mpg combined (15 mpg city/20 mpg highway).
