USED BMW X6 REVIEWOverview
When looking for a high-end coupe with a sporty appeal, look no further than the BMW X6. The sedan and SUV blend is luxurious and is a fun way to travel around town with a distinctive and unique silhouette. The X6 provides quick acceleration and a smooth and comfortable ride. As always, the BMW body frame is known for its strong presence, and the BMW X6 model fits into the lineup perfectly.
Trims and EngineThe 2018 BMW X6 is available in three different trims that include the sDrive35i, xDrive35i and the xDrive50i. The sDrive35i is a rear-wheel drive with a V6 engine that produces about 300 horsepower and 300 pounds of torque while the xDrive35i trim has the same V6 engine but operates under the all-wheel-drive format. The xDrive50i is an all-wheel-drive that uses a turbocharged V8 engine that produces 445 horsepower and about 480 pounds per foot of torque.
PerformanceAccording to Edmunds, the 2013 xDrive35i posts a consistent 5.8 seconds going from 0-60 mph. While acceleration to reach 60 mph is excellent, the transition between gears is a notable plus. Although accelerating is a highlight of the X6, coming to a complete stop is impressive as well, because the car only needs 108 feet from a top speed of 60 mph.
TechnologyThe BMW X6 comes with an advanced touchscreen infotainment system. The interior offers a wireless smartphone charging option that is convenient, especially when the battery life is low, and the cabin also includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and real-time traffic information. The X6 continues its tradition of providing technological enhancements to the convenience of its passengers.
InteriorIf you have larger items to be transported, pay closer attention to the cargo area. When the rear seats are in the up position, the cargo area provides sufficient space, but if you need an expanded cargo area, be aware that the rear seats do not fold completely flat. Be mindful that passengers in the rear seats have less headspace due to the sloping roof of the BMW X6, and the rear doors do not extend out enough for some occupants due to the design of the sloping roof.
Fuel EfficiencyIf you plan to drive around town a lot, you may notice the need to monitor the gas gauge. The SUV utilizes more fuel on distances traveled compared to those in its class
Safety OptionsThe BMW X6 was designed with safety as a priority. However, to maximize the safety features, BMW offers optional enhancements, which means more budgetary concerns on top of the cost of acquisition. Some optional safety packages include the Driving Assistance Package, Driving Assistance Plus package and an Executive package.
