OverviewBMW i3

It's obvious from the first glance that the BMW i3 is no ordinary car. Its unusual shape is the result of not needing to design the car around a traditional gasoline engine, a step BMW took even further by building this electric city car's body shell out of carbon fiber, which is exceptionally light and very strong. Discover the ins and out on used BMW i3s, available now in Carvana's inventory.

Stylish Interior

For being a compact coupe, the interior of the BMW i3 is stunningly stylish and modern, complete with thin flat-panel display screens that give a clean and futuristic feel. In particular, the Giga World trim on the i3 provides a unique feel with its gray wool cloth, leather upholstery (tanned using olive leaf extract), and eucalyptus wood trim.

Excellent Visibility and Roominess

Thanks to the raised front seats, the i3 not only provides a comfortable ride, but also is well-positioned, providing terrific outward visibility for the driver. In the rear, the two-person seating offers a decent amount of legroom and excellent headroom to passengers courtesy of the i3's tall roof line.

Nimble Handling, Impressive Acceleration

For an electric vehicle (EV), the i3 is a bit of an exception compared to most cars of its ilk. Though the i3 doesn't stack up to the more traditional BMW models in the handling department, compared to other EVs, it has few -- if any -- equals. Its tight turning radius, precise steering, and diminutive stature make it fun to drive, particular in tight quarters. Like many battery-powered vehicles, the i3 also possesses impressive suddenness in the acceleration department.

Expensive Sticker Price

Compared to most other EVs, the BMW i3 a little on the spendy side for an entry-level car in this segment. The BMW name certainly contributes to this, however the i3 looks and performs like a vehicle born from quality German engineering.

Rear Seat Passengers

As impressive as the i3 is in a number of different areas, there is at least one notable drawback with the vehicle's functionality. For rear seat passengers, getting in and out of the vehicle can be a bit of a pain, as both doors on one side must be opened in order for a person to climb in back.

Cargo Capacity

It's not a huge surprise considering the size of the vehicle, but the i3 isn't exactly a big family or cargo hauler. With only 11.2 cubic feet, the i3's truck space is big enough to fit about two bags of golf clubs, but little else. When the rear seats are folded down, cargo space increases to 38.8 cubic feet.
